Firefighter Wedding: Oregon City, Or

Perhaps the most anticipated wedding of the season for me, this couple has wound their way into my heart. Wendi and Shawn are the type of people that attract other genuinely dear people to them. There is a level of sincerity and love that I see only rarely and it just brought so much excitement for me as the day unfolded.  They are the real Mccoy! Their love has stood the test of time, gathered momentum and finally come to a new genesis on August 9th.
When we met for their engagement session months ago, I knew it would be special- but I had no idea how absolutely stunning it would be. The Lahodny estate was transformed into backyard paradise, with personalized details everywhere you looked.Wendi had put her heart into her wedding, and like her, the results were endearing, romantic, and down-right gorgeous.

The Lahodny men give me hope for America. No really, they do. (being firefighters sure doesn’t hurt either) When I photographed Jamen and April last summer I saw what this family was like. The genuine love, servants hearts, bond of true friendship- it brought tears to my eyes.  Now photographing Shawn and beautiful Wendi- it was a double confirmation. These guys are just the best and they have exceptionally good taste when it comes to their wives. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, which makes me think Mom and Dad Lahodny must be very proud indeed.

To the new Mr. + Mrs. Lahodny- thank you for this incredible privilege of securing your memories, I wish we could do it all again. You both are givers,  constantly pouring out yourself for others, it’s inspiring and a true example. It made me want to “give it all I got” in response. I really look forward to watching your family grow and hopefully continue to tell your story in photos…

Because of their ongoing commitment as firefighters, Shawn wanted to bring in a retired truck as part of their story. It was hot.
