You are hauling gear, you are hauling bags, totes, reflectors, lenses…all this STUFF!
So what do you wear that fits the criteria of photographer and sophisticate simultaneously?
I once heard a wise photographer say: “look like a guest at the wedding who just happens to have a really nice camera.” While not everyone can manage it, I wear heels and frequently a dress. I wear some bling, but nothing too distracting. Basically- I am a professional version of ME.
I wear heels most every day, why should I stop when I’m working? Why should I be expected to done work shoes and cargo pants just because I’m shooting a wedding? People should never have that “there goes the photographer” look written on their faces.
Be clean, be savvy, be yourself.
Wow, I needed this! I’m shooting my first two weddings this year and automatically the first thing I thought was, “What am I supposed to wear???”I love your outfit here. I think I’ll go with that clean, black and white look with some nice heels. Professional and stylish, plus it doesn’t take the attention off of the bride and groom.
And don’t forget a bit of bling ;P No one says you can’t be fabulous
