VOGUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE
JOURNAL

I love the chemistry between a man and a woman. The romance, the energy, the intimacy-- and when, at their best, they really do pull out greatness in the other.
I have experienced many subjects and genres of photography  over the years, but wedding photography always draws me back. The sheer intensity, the 'once in a lifetime' nature of it, and so much diversity in one day. From details (still life), family portraits, documentary photography, food, fashion photography-- Weddings have it all. I believe Simon Sinek said it best:
"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion".

I believe there is a significant section of the population that is grossly ignored by photographers. Everyone highlights their skinny, model-esque clients on their homepage forgetting that there are thousands of women out there waiting to be captured as they’ve always dreamed. I know what it’s like to look in the mirror and see only […]

Why I Love Curvy Curving Girls

Portraiture is more than just taking a picture. It’s creating an experience, that feeling of sweeping glamor, pampering, feeling beautiful. This project was absolutely amazing. 30 min. 51 shots. 13 keepers.  Brooke is 14. She is the sweetest thing on 2 feet and loves to pour out her life for others. She has never worn […]

The raging debate in the Goots household is whether one ought to “saw” a  tree, or “chop” it. Apparently Montana men don’t use a saw, they use an axe. Fearing for life and limb of her beloved Husby, wifey protested such behavior vehemently. To no avail. Merry Christmas to a world of manly men and […]

Adventures of Husby and Wifey: The Tree Hacker

What I love to shoot- what I really shoot best- is weddings and women. It took me some time to realize that as a photographer you shouldn’t shoot every subject that crosses your path just for the money. Find what you love, and figure out how to make money capturing it. Until you define who […]

“I had just taken a bite of this UUHmazing burger, and I opened my eyes…and there she was, looking so hot and so confused.”The heavens had opened and Matt was dead gone over this willowy butterfly named Christy. Their first chance encounter in the cafeteria wasn’t romantic, but it was certainly memorable. ;P (check out […]

Christina + Matt: Postlewait Farm Wedding

It has been a long journey. You would never guess by the joy shared between them that they have suffered much grief in their recent past. This day was a celebration of all they have endured in bringing them to this place, of years of patience, of two families uniting, of a friendship that neither […]

Kayrin + Jon: Meriwether Golf Club Wedding

Over tea yesterday wifey shared her Top 10 Secrets about Husby. Mums the word folks. No snitching! 1. He can imitate a killer Irish accent, it always makes her laugh. 2. He always checks the door lock, before they go to bed, for her safety. 3. Every morning when he bikes to work, he stops […]

Christa is absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I are beyond blessed to have had her capture our day! She was so great at directing people kindly and having fun too! She's a blast and we enjoyed the day more because of her! We loved getting to know her and she even had us to her home the week after our wedding for a brief photo shoot since the weather had been bad on the wedding day...she really went above and WAY beyond the call of a photographer and became our friend! She's the type we'd schedule a photo shoot with simply to see her and catch up!! Her baby is the cutest most joyful girl just like her momma! 💕There are not words to reccomend Christa highly enough! 💕We love you Christa!!
