How to Plan Your Portland Engagement Session

The best locations for an engagement session in portland is really a location that has significance for you as the couple. Is there a place that you frequented together, that holds memories? Or a spot that you could incorporate, even briefly, into your engagement session?

Modern Editorial Engagement Session Locations

  • The iconic lobby of the Ritz downtown Portland is a beautiful spot for some natural lit glamorous engagement photos.
  • Lobby of the Benson (more old world vibe, but still can be very beautiful) Perfect for more traditional weddings.

  • In-door Studio. In the winter/cold months I would definitely consider renting a clean, beautifully lit studio and (staying warm/dry) but also creating some gorgeous editorial images with the right furniture and styling details.
  • Portland Treasury Building Downtown

Romantic and Adventurous Engagement Session Locations:

  • Government cove Engagements in the Oregon Gorge. It can be very windy, but super romantic, and if you are wearing a dress with movement, it is perfect.

Wind Mountain Ranch Engagement Photos

  • A beautiful venue in the Oregon Gorge, it features wide open views of the river and surrounding hills.

  • Hood River Waterfront– the beach and the river access is super pretty and not frequented by tons of people.
  • Latourell Falls (no hike required).

  • Powell Butte Engagement Session. – Right in the city, you will need to drive through a bit of the rougher side of Portland, but it’s well worth it.

  • Ridgefield Waterfront & Columbia Waterfront– there are a lot of spots up and down the Columbia that are beautiful for a more beach-inspired engagement session.

  • Cape Kiwanda Oregon Coast Engagement session — the sandstone rocks are SO Beautiful in photos. The whole color palette is just beautiful.

  • Ponzi Vineyard If you want a romantic winery setting, Ponzi is one of my favorites.
  • PIttock Mansion Engagement– Definitely that old world luxury vibe, but you need to dress the part, suits and gowns look best here.
  • Peninsula Park

Romantic European Inspired Engagement Locations in Oregon

  • Chateau de Lis – Massive and beautiful, French Chateau in Oregon City that has a beautiful European aesthetic. Must have permission from the host, as it is also venue and their private residence. I love the extensive grounds, it is so lovely and provides plenty of beautiful backgdrops for a romantic engagement session just outside of the hub of Portland.

  • Chateau De Leon – Features stunning views of Mount Hood and Mt St Helens. Must have permission from the host as it is a gated community. But the blossoming vineyard and surrounding grounds are really lovely at Chateau De Leon.

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.
