VOGUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE
JOURNAL

I love the chemistry between a man and a woman. The romance, the energy, the intimacy-- and when, at their best, they really do pull out greatness in the other.
I have experienced many subjects and genres of photography  over the years, but wedding photography always draws me back. The sheer intensity, the 'once in a lifetime' nature of it, and so much diversity in one day. From details (still life), family portraits, documentary photography, food, fashion photography-- Weddings have it all. I believe Simon Sinek said it best:
"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion".

Ponzi Vineyard is one of my favorite locations to shoot, both Sherwood and Dundee feature  gorgeous vistas and of course… vineyards. Romantic Ponzi Vineyard Wedding: Portland Wedding Photographer

Actions speak louder than words, and this is always self-evident when a guy is willing to do an engagement shoot with his fiancé. I grew up with 4 brothers and know for certain that getting photos taken really isn’t a “guy thing”. So when a manly man  puts himself out there, loves on his girl […]

Romantic Forest Park Engagement: Sean + Linda

5 sessions in one weekend. I loved it.  Catching multiple faces smiling at the same time is a huge challenge (and all under 60 minutes!), but there’s nothing sweeter than capturing the love of a family. It is such a privilege to capture these memories and be a part of their lives and homes.   […]

Portland Lifestyle Family Portraits: Sauvie Island

Portland Wedding Photography is a challenge and a joy. Often I look at my work, and think, “what am I doing??” It’s easy to want to drop everything and quit. But on the other side, you have this incredible satisfaction as you see your work. If you want to be a photographer prepare for a […]

Portland Wedding Photographer: Favorites

When I initially sat down with Lindsay and Matt for their consultation, we had an instant connection. We talked about sunglasses and career moves and family life and pretty much everything except wedding details. 😉  I was like, “Oh yeah- we have a wedding to figure out here!” I just like these people. Needless to […]

Nancy Russell Overlook Wedding: Lindsay + Matt

5 years ago people used to tote around a digital camera on their vacations and actually capture memories in decent quality. Now, the vast majority skip the extra 2 lb of shoulder luggage and just use their all-too-convenient iPhone. While few will actually take the time to read this article, this trend is vastly important. […]

McMenamins Edgefield Engagement: Kate and Casey

I never get tired of weddings. Every time I still get the butterflies as I pack the car and head to the venue. Every time the Father/Daughter moment makes me cry and the way a groom looks at his bride makes me want to fling myself into the arms of my own husband at home. […]

If you haven’t seen their Cathedral Park Engagement shoot, visit it first because you’ll see the first chapter in this love story there. August 23rd, however, was the final culmination of many plans and conversations. It dawned a beautiful summer morning, promising to heat up as the day progressed. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

Long before I was engaged, I knew I wanted Christa Taylor Photography to capture the special moments of my wedding. She more than met our expectations, and seldom a month goes by without somebody telling us how gorgeous our wedding pictures turned out!
Working with Christa is like finding some awesome girlfriend who completely gets you and can show you the beauty in whatever project you're undertaking. I recommend her to every bride I work with! Thank you, Christa, for your incredible work!

Christa is absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I are beyond blessed to have had her capture our day! She was so great at directing people kindly and having fun too! She's a blast and we enjoyed the day more because of her! We loved getting to know her and she even had us to her home the week after our wedding for a brief photo shoot since the weather had been bad on the wedding day...she really went above and WAY beyond the call of a photographer and became our friend! She's the type we'd schedule a photo shoot with simply to see her and catch up!! Her baby is the cutest most joyful girl just like her momma! 💕There are not words to reccomend Christa highly enough! 💕We love you Christa!!
