VOGUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE
JOURNAL

I love the chemistry between a man and a woman. The romance, the energy, the intimacy-- and when, at their best, they really do pull out greatness in the other.
I have experienced many subjects and genres of photography  over the years, but wedding photography always draws me back. The sheer intensity, the 'once in a lifetime' nature of it, and so much diversity in one day. From details (still life), family portraits, documentary photography, food, fashion photography-- Weddings have it all. I believe Simon Sinek said it best:
"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion".

When you see your own brother getting married it’s like doing a double take, “hold on, aren’t you like seven years old?”  Apparently not. 😉 My little brother is all done growed up and gettin’ married! Maybe it finally sank in when Sam looked at Gracie with that, “only you forever” in his eyes; or […]

Eric and Cassandra’s love story culminated on an idealic June afternoon surrounded by the wide fields and lush greenery of Postlewait Farms. For their first look, instead of opting to see each other prior to the ceremony, Cassandra  and Eric used blindfolds to keep it a “surprise” while still having that moment to hold each […]

How To Build Wealth As A Small Business

It was one of Portland gorgeous overcast days, soft light filtered through the trees as we made our way into the green recesses of Camp Colton. Overshadowed by giant Fir and Cedar trees, Kendi and Derek vowed their life and love on May 10 surrounded by much beloved family and friends. You can see Kendi’s […]

Sometimes happiness is in little pockets of life. 1 hour of sunshine on Mt Tabor surrounded by loved ones that have little chubby fingers and toes. When, as a photographer, I somehow get to be included in this happy moment, I feel supremely lucky. Happiness is contagious, but I bet you knew that already. Hanging […]

Wendi was plowing through nursing school and found herself face-to-face with Anatomy and Physiology. The dread of many a student, you have to achieve a perfect A to get a coveted spot in the nursing program. The first time round Wendi was dissapointed with her B+ and determined to Ace the class a second time. […]

Mt Hood Engagement: Shawn + Wendi

Eric had just moved from Montana and was putting down his roots in Portland. It was a new chapter and a new beginning. At first, his employment was just a stable respectable job, clock in, clock out, and pay the bills. All that changed when he met Cassandra. Whether it was her ethereal beauty or […]

Hood River + Mt Tabor Engagement: Eric + Cassandra

Kendi and her darling daughter Mila were the topic of conversation. Kendi’s dad was on a hunting trip along with Derek and a few others. Not once, but several times Dad mentioned how much he’d love Derek to be introduced to his daughter, Kendi. Pulling out his phone, he showed them off, Kendi and Mila, […]

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

Christa is absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I are beyond blessed to have had her capture our day! She was so great at directing people kindly and having fun too! She's a blast and we enjoyed the day more because of her! We loved getting to know her and she even had us to her home the week after our wedding for a brief photo shoot since the weather had been bad on the wedding day...she really went above and WAY beyond the call of a photographer and became our friend! She's the type we'd schedule a photo shoot with simply to see her and catch up!! Her baby is the cutest most joyful girl just like her momma! 💕There are not words to reccomend Christa highly enough! 💕We love you Christa!!
