VOGUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE
JOURNAL

I love the chemistry between a man and a woman. The romance, the energy, the intimacy-- and when, at their best, they really do pull out greatness in the other.
I have experienced many subjects and genres of photography  over the years, but wedding photography always draws me back. The sheer intensity, the 'once in a lifetime' nature of it, and so much diversity in one day. From details (still life), family portraits, documentary photography, food, fashion photography-- Weddings have it all. I believe Simon Sinek said it best:
"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion".

I was 10 years old. More than anything I wanted my mom to get pregnant again. I remember having dreams of holding a baby in fuzzy yellow pajamas and wishing that my dream was reality.    That’s when I started praying. I had an infallible trust that God was there, that He could hear me, […]

This McMenamins Old church wedding was a new location for me, just South of Portland in the quiet town of Wilsonville 🙂

Portland boudoir photos can be all across the board, from tacky to fabulous (and unfortunately more in the former 😉    What I love most about doing classy feminine boudoir photography is that it is such an empowering experience for every woman that has come through our studio. Unfortunately, to protect the privacy of our […]

Timberline is such a fantastic location for Engagement shoot. So close to Portland, and really ideal if you want snow! Zana and Jim are two of a kind and so fun to be around. As you can see they love to laugh, and their joy in each other is contagious.

We get a lot of shoots published on wedding blogs, and I’m sooo bad at staying on top of them and sharing the features! (I haven’t even figured out how to repost on Instagram, yeah, embarrassing).    To “Catch up” so to speak- enjoy these two recent features from Southbound Bride and one of our […]

Portland Engagement photos are one of my favorite shoot sessions. There are so many gorgeous locations to shoot in Portland for your Portland engagement session. If you’re looking for rustic, romantic outdoor engagement photos- then Powell Butte is your spot. It’s like stepping into a wild-life reserve, minus the wildlife. I always secretly imagine that Johnny […]

Because we show work that’s primarily photographed with natural light, I frequently get asked whether I’m comfortable shooting indoors.    The answer is yes. 🙂 We have shot in every wedding venue imaginable in often very unfavorable lighting conditions. It’s our job to make your event shine despite the season 🙂 We will always hunt […]

Q+A: Are you Comfortable Shooting Indoors?

Castaway Portland is one of my favorite venues because natural light just floods every room. I’ll always have a soft spot for industrial spaces, and beautiful light is the key to amazing photography. Sometimes we “create” it using off-camera flashes, but most of the time we hunt for that window light that brings it’s own creative […]

Cornelius Pass is one of those wedding venues that can be elevated to a level of Northwest  beauty that is truly reflective of the bride and groom. It’s rustic, charming and with the addition of great florals and a killer coordinator-(Lisa Marie Events!) it’s breathtaking.   Laurel and Tyson are incredibly selfless people, they really cared about […]

I was so delighted (and surprised!) to see 2 out of 10 of the “Best Real Weddings” were shot by our studio. You’ve seen these lovely weddings on our blog before, but to know that other audiences were inspired by them as well is very satisfying. Solo Deo Gloria.  Here’s a link to the Feature– […]

The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

Long before I was engaged, I knew I wanted Christa Taylor Photography to capture the special moments of my wedding. She more than met our expectations, and seldom a month goes by without somebody telling us how gorgeous our wedding pictures turned out!
Working with Christa is like finding some awesome girlfriend who completely gets you and can show you the beauty in whatever project you're undertaking. I recommend her to every bride I work with! Thank you, Christa, for your incredible work!

Christa is absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I are beyond blessed to have had her capture our day! She was so great at directing people kindly and having fun too! She's a blast and we enjoyed the day more because of her! We loved getting to know her and she even had us to her home the week after our wedding for a brief photo shoot since the weather had been bad on the wedding day...she really went above and WAY beyond the call of a photographer and became our friend! She's the type we'd schedule a photo shoot with simply to see her and catch up!! Her baby is the cutest most joyful girl just like her momma! 💕There are not words to reccomend Christa highly enough! 💕We love you Christa!!
