VOGUE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

THE
JOURNAL

I love the chemistry between a man and a woman. The romance, the energy, the intimacy-- and when, at their best, they really do pull out greatness in the other.
I have experienced many subjects and genres of photography  over the years, but wedding photography always draws me back. The sheer intensity, the 'once in a lifetime' nature of it, and so much diversity in one day. From details (still life), family portraits, documentary photography, food, fashion photography-- Weddings have it all. I believe Simon Sinek said it best:
"Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion".

The Portland Waterfront, specifically the Eastbank Esplanade, is a major attraction to photographers and engaged couples alike. No where else in the city can you get that gorgeous Portland skyline silhouetted in quite the same way. The challenge as a Portland engagement photographer is how to shoot at the same location multiple times and still have […]

Portland Waterfront Engagement: Kristian and Noelle

Having known Nick for many years, it was truly a special privilege to have a “front row” seat at their wedding. The celebration took place at the Troutdale House just down the street from Troutdale’s quaint downtown strip. Despite the January chill, these two love birds braved the cold with warm smiles and thankful hearts. […]

First Presbyterian Church Tacoma Wedding I love this family. LOVE THEM. Maybe it’s the similar upbringing, (I feel right at home) maybe it’s the love shared between the siblings, their great sense of style (you know who you are) or the purity and passion in their weddings. Whatever it is, this family is a gem- […]

This wedding at Best Western Hood River was personally so refreshing for me. It was a reminder of why I shoot weddings in the first place. Yes, the schedule was way off, the rain was coming in torrents, and our portrait time was squished into 20 minutes. But despite all these discouraging odds, looking […]

Coming from Detroit, Ponzi Vineyard and all its beauty was a perfect getaway for Eric and Lindsay’s intimate wedding celebration. In their usual impeccable style, Ponzi hosted the lovely soiree and displayed some of the Northwests finest eatables.    This is just a few of my favorites from the day, notice the unusually rosy sky during […]

If it gives a bride confidence to see our studio in print, then by all means I will share it. Oregon Bride Magazine has been so gracious over the past year to feature our studios work in two of their campaigns. The most recent being this stunner of a shoot at Maysara Vineyard.  Image of […]

Wahclella Falls is a breathtaking waterfall just right off the gorge. Photographing a bit of Jordan and Cassidy’s love story here was one of the highlights of my summer. I love a couple who is willing to take that risk, to trust me and go with my crazy ideas- even if it means getting a […]

Leftbank Annex holds a special place in my heart, as it’s where Dan and I got married not long ago. To be invited back to Leftbank and enjoy Summer and Dylan’s vibrant, love-filled celebration was tremendously satisfying and brought back so many happy memories.    I love Summer and Dylan’s story, because it truly exemplifies […]

I loved Labish Gardens. It was a cooker of a day, but it was SO beautiful and every guest was so happy to be there, no one seemed to mind the heat (and a great whiskey sour sure doesn’t hurt 😉Located just outside Salem Oregon, Labish Gardens is surrounded by rolling farm fields and boasts […]

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.

Christa is absolutely PHENOMENAL! My husband and I are beyond blessed to have had her capture our day! She was so great at directing people kindly and having fun too! She's a blast and we enjoyed the day more because of her! We loved getting to know her and she even had us to her home the week after our wedding for a brief photo shoot since the weather had been bad on the wedding day...she really went above and WAY beyond the call of a photographer and became our friend! She's the type we'd schedule a photo shoot with simply to see her and catch up!! Her baby is the cutest most joyful girl just like her momma! 💕There are not words to reccomend Christa highly enough! 💕We love you Christa!!
